Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how BC Solutions ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the BC Overhead Agent software application (the "Software"). We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how the Software accesses, uses, and stores data.
1. Information the Software Accesses
When You connect the Software to Your Intuit QuickBooks Online account, the Software accesses financial and operational data from that account, which may include:
- Chart of accounts, classes, and departments
- Profit and loss data, expense categorizations, and general ledger entries
- Employee records, time activities, and payroll-related data
- Customer, vendor, and job/project records
- Company profile information (name, realm ID, fiscal year)
The Software accesses this data only after You grant authorization through Intuit's OAuth 2.0 flow. You may revoke this authorization at any time from within Your QuickBooks Online settings.
2. How Data Is Used
Data accessed through Your QuickBooks connection is used solely to perform the calculations and reporting functions You initiate within the Software — for example, computing overhead rates, labor burden, and related construction-accounting metrics. Data is not used for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the features You use.
3. Where Data Is Stored
The Software runs locally on Your computer. QuickBooks data retrieved during a session is processed on Your device and stored in a local database file under Your user profile. OAuth tokens (access and refresh tokens) are stored locally in encrypted form so that You do not need to reauthorize on every session.
BC Solutions does not operate a server-side database of Your QuickBooks data. We do not transmit, upload, or copy Your financial data to any BC Solutions infrastructure.
4. Sharing With Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or share Your data with third parties. The only third party involved in the Software's operation is Intuit, whose APIs we call on Your behalf to retrieve the data You authorize. Intuit's handling of that data is governed by its own Global Privacy Statement at https://www.intuit.com/privacy/statement/.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Because data is stored locally on Your device, retention is entirely under Your control. You can delete stored data at any time by:
- Disconnecting from QuickBooks within the Software (removes stored tokens)
- Using the Software's "Clear Local Data" option, if available
- Uninstalling the Software, which removes its local database
Revoking the Software's access in Your QuickBooks Online account (Apps → Connected Apps) immediately terminates our ability to retrieve further data.
6. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect data handled by the Software, including encrypting OAuth tokens at rest, using HTTPS for all API communication with Intuit, and following Intuit's published security guidelines for OAuth 2.0 clients. However, no software is completely secure, and You are responsible for maintaining the security of the device on which the Software is installed.
7. Children's Privacy
The Software is a business tool and is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
8. Your Rights
Because Your data is stored locally and not transmitted to BC Solutions, You retain full control over it at all times. You may access, export, or delete it directly. If You believe the Software has accessed or stored data in a manner inconsistent with this Policy, please contact us at the address below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Software or our website.
